Synopsis: Thor Odinson, crown prince of Asgard and the God of Thunder, is arrogant and impulsive. When he recklessly reignites a war with the Frost Giants of Jotunheim, his father Odin strips him of his powers and his magical hammer Mjolnir, banishing him to Earth. Stranded in New Mexico, Thor meets astrophysicist Jane Foster and her team, who help him learn humility and what it means to be a true leader. Meanwhile, his brother Loki discovers he is actually a Frost Giant and plots to seize the Asgardian throne, manipulating events to turn Odin and the realm against Thor. When Loki sends the destroyer robot to Earth to eliminate Thor, the banished prince proves his worthiness by sacrificing himself to protect others, regaining his powers and Mjolnir. He returns to Asgard, defeats Loki, and saves the realm—though Loki falls into a wormhole and disappears. Thor then accepts his role as a protector of both Asgard and Earth.
